Discrete – “Empty” music video

“Look, I been tryna do good. I ain’t no villain. But it’s feeling like I’m stuck in a room. And ain’t no ceiling. Only walls, but ain’t no ladder to climb. I’m stuck inside. See this is a metaphor for how I be feeling inside my mind. It feels like drums beating around to go with the sound of all my pain. It feels guns hunting me down and gunning me down. It’s all the same. All these thoughts of rejection, fake love and affection. I walk this lonely road but ain’t no sign of direction.” – lyrics

‘Empty’ tells a heartfelt tale of a dejected young man who struggles with rejection. The likable tune contains a relatable storyline, pleasing vocals, and tuneful melodies. Also, the song possesses melodic instrumentation scented with an emo-rap aroma.

Discrete - “Empty” cover

“This song is a walk down a pathway into my mind. The daily inner struggle that I battle with, the demons I face, and the realization of my morals. Everything in one. From the first line, ‘I’ve been tryna do good, I ain’t no villain. And it’s feeling like I’m stuck in a room, but ain’t no ceiling.’ I give you an instant idea of how my thoughts overcrowd my judgment. I truly feel like this song is my best single body of work yet, and I hope it gets fully listened to, and not just heard.” – Discrete

Discrete’s musical influences include Drake, Hopsin, Big Sean, and other artists.
