StarChild Kayla is an up-and-coming contemporary rap artist from Dayton, Ohio. Not too long ago, she released a music video for her “In My Bag” single, produced by 99AVE.

“Leo Degante, who is a local videographer in Cincinnati, shot the music video for ‘In My Bag’. My favorite scene is when I’m inside of the corner store. The owner didn’t really want us in the store so we got as much footage as we could get and made it work. I had a great time filming the video with my friends especially since we are all local artists who are trying to make it in the industry.” – StarChild Kayla
‘In My Bag’ tells the tale of a young woman who can’t afford to be broke, therefore, she makes sure that her bank account stays in the green.
Also, she navigates around town with a money-getting championship team and looks forward to obtaining the finer things in life.
‘In My Bag’ contains a relatable storyline and harmonious rap vocals. Also, the likable tune possesses melodic instrumentation flavored with hip-hop and trap elements.

“‘In My Bag’ was really just a song I could flex on. When @99AVE sent the beat, I wasn’t really sure if I could flow to it because at the time I only made slow songs or R&B tracks. But once I heard the beat I knew that I had to come out of my comfort zone. Also, I knew that I had a chance to make a lit track.” – StarChild Kayla
‘In My Bag’ is one of three singles that StarChild Kayla has released. Her other tunes include “Nonsense” and “Same Love”.
