“‘Shapes and Shadows’ is a song about realizing how much you love the person you are with but simultaneously realizing how much that gives them the potential to hurt you. It’s about facing the fears and hardships that often come along with love and continuing to fight for that person/relationship despite them. Also, it acknowledges the fact that the relationship is not perfect in any way but that is also what makes it feel so special.” – Madisyn Gifford explained

‘Shapes and Shadows’ contains a relationship-based narrative, ear-welcoming vocals, and tuneful melodies. Also, the likable tune possesses mellow instrumentation flavored with a warm contemporary pop aroma.

“I wrote ‘Shapes and Shadows’ on a napkin while on break at the coffee shop I worked in when I was 18. I rushed home to my guitar after my shift so that I could put it to music. And it is such a special one for me. I’m so glad to have been able to work with Colin Janz on this song as well because it’s his work that truly brought the whole thing to life.” – Madisyn Gifford explained

Madisyn Gifford is quickly proving that she is a force to reckon with in the rising Canadian pop scene. Since releasing her debut single, WITHOUT YOU, she has accumulated over 124K Spotify streams and over 340K YouTube views. Her music is starting to appear on popular playlists such as It’s a Bop and Indie Pop & Chill.

Gifford’s sophomore single, “Voulez Vous,” has proven to be a smash. So far, the music video to the song has accumulated nearly 200K views in just two weeks.

Madisyn Gifford – “Voulez Vous” music video

“The ‘Voulez-Vous’ music video plays off of the message of the song and is all about female empowerment. It starts out with a woman in a lake peacefully singing her own song. And then takes a dark turn as a man comes along and steals it from her. At first, she is hurt, but just like in the song, by the end of the video she ends up taking the power back. It was so much fun to make and I absolutely love the message that it portrays.” – Madisyn Gifford explained

‘Voulez Vous’ serves as a wonderful presentation of what listeners can expect to hear from Madisyn Gifford in the near future.
