Zikai is a Swedish Grammy-winning singer-songwriter from Stockholm, Sweden. After a release hiatus for over a year, she returns spectacularly with a wonderful first glimpse of her new and inspiring chapter, entitled, “Super 8,” via Northbound Music Group, under exclusive license to Virgin Music Sweden. The lovely, groovy bass-laden track was co-written together with Trey Campbell (John Legend, H.E.R., Guy Sebastian, Givēon), Agrin Rahmani (Veronica Maggio, Augustine, LEON), and Nirob Islam (Kygo).

“I named it ‘Super 8’ because during the session I imagined the song in a movie scene – a hot summer day, palm trees, me driving around in the same yellow Cadillac that Al Pacino drives in Scarface. And all of this would be filmed in super 8mm. It suited the sound image.” – Zikai explained
‘Super 8’ is a song about reclaiming power and setting boundaries in relationships. It is inspired by Zikai’s desire for a deep and genuine connection with a person she believed worthy of her love, while over the years, she has learned to set boundaries in toxic relationships. In this way, she takes back the power. This is the first single from Zikai’s upcoming EP, and with this strong start, it will no doubt be a journey to look forward to.

Since her Swedish Grammy win for Soul/R&B 2021, Zikai has spent all her time in the studio working on a new sound. Drawing inspiration from other styles of music while maintaining strong roots in R&B, she and her co-writers have created a world full of diary-like stories articulated through lyrics that include confidence, sensuality, and vulnerability.
