Zikai releases a heartfelt R&B tune, entitled, “First Place”

Zikai is a rising singer-songwriter from Stockholm, Sweden. Not too long ago, she released a heartfelt R&B tune, entitled, “First Place,” written with and produced by Pontus Persson via Northbound Music Group.

Zikai – “First Place” single

“Remember I had an early flight Sunday night, but you took me out. We were doing Molly on the top of the hill, body on my body, just to see how it feel. Now those nights feel like another lifetime. No lies and you did everything right. I met your mama and you met all my friends. Now they’d give you drama If you saw them again.” – lyrics

‘First Place’ tells a heartfelt tale about a young woman who recently broke up with her significant other. Apparently, they were both at fault for breaking each other’s hearts. They were young and inexperienced, and they believed in words and not actions. Later, the woman admits that she fell out of love with her ex because her ex didn’t care, and in a way, she didn’t either. However, she wishes that her ex may one day understand what real love is all about.

“Tell ‘em you put up a fight if that helps you sleep at night.”

“‘First Place’ is about the blame game which can happen after a breakup and how I often keep myself from putting the blame where it actually belongs.” – Zikai explained

‘First Place’ contains a post-relationship-based narrative, ear-pleasing vocalization, and tuneful melodies that will resonate well with fans of Snoh Aalegra and Sinead Harnett. The likable tune possesses guitar-driven instrumentation flavored with a warm contemporary R&B vibration. Furthermore, “First Place” follows hot on the heels of Zikai’s previously released single, entitled, “You Can Call Me Al,” a cover of Paul Simon’s 1986 hit song.
