“Layton Greene is the real deal. The team at Quality Control has a proven track record for developing new talent. And as their first R&B signing, Layton finds herself in great company alongside artists like Migos and Lil Baby. We’re proud that the DSCVR ‘Artists To Watch’ stage is one of the first places fans will be able to see her perform live.” – JP Evangelista, SVP of Content, Programming & Marketing

Vevo DSCVR is an annual series that highlights artists who are shaping the future of music.

One of these artists is Layton Greene, who achieved spotlight success after singing a remix of Kodak Black’s “Roll In Peace” single.

A dedicated Keyshia Cole fan, Greene boasts a Mary J. Blige vibe, where gritty drama is transformed into real-life lessons.

Check out her live video performance of her “Never Knew” single to further understand why Vevo included her in their DSCVR program.

“DSCVR ‘Artists to Watch’ is a key program for Vevo and now in its 6th year demonstrates our commitment to championing emerging artists. The Vevo team takes great pride in fostering new talent and helping expose our audience to artists we feel will make an impact in the forthcoming year. We’re excited to shine a light on these 20 artists, and watch as they continue to grow their fan base into 2020.” – JP Evangelista, SVP of Content, Programming & Marketing

The road to success hasn’t been an easy journey for Layton Greene who had to go through a homeless phase to reach her ultimate destination.

The determined songstress, while studying for her GED, survived the ups-and-downs of a few problematic relationships. Also, while working the aisles at Walmart, she discovered that people adored her voice.

Therefore, she ramped up her game with producer G-Styles and became wooed by label bigwigs. Shortly afterward, she chose the Quality Control crew, becoming the only non-rapper on the impressive Southern roster.
