Empara Mi is a talented London-based singer-songwriter and producer from Guernsey. Not too long ago, she released a lovely music video for her “SHOUT” single.
Empara Mi – “SHOUT” music video
“This is my anti love song and is probably the closest I’ve come to writing a heart break anthem. I’ve found myself in the past having to choose between someone or something else and my music, which was never really a choice for me. Music always gave me a feeling nothing else could, so ‘Shout’ captured the moment I realised that I was at peace with the thought that nothing else might ever compare and I was fine with that.” – Empara Mi
‘SHOUT’ tells a heartfelt tale of acceptance and finding solace in heartbreak. The bittersweet tune finds Empara Mi conveying an important message: “Just because they don’t love you for you doesn’t mean no one else will.”
Furthermore, “SHOUT” contains a relatable storyline, ear-welcoming vocals, and tuneful melodies. Also, the song possesses minimalistic instrumentation scented with a warm alternative-pop aroma. Moreover, “SHOUT” will be featured on Empara Mi’s upcoming mini-album, entitled, “Suitcase Full of Sins”, set to be released on March 27, 2020.
“Suitcase Full of Sins” mini-album
“‘Suitcase Full of Sins’ is a compilation of all of my demons over the past five years. I wanted to pour all the fractured states of my mind into the music, hence the journey between chaos and complete solitude but always with a side of EXTRA. I was lucky enough to work with some incredible producers, Andrew Dawson (Kanye West, Childish Gambino) and Owen Cutts, to create a world around the songs with no fear of genre. Which is why each song feels more like a scene from a movie as they each play their own role in the album.” – Empara Mi
‘Suitcase Full of Sins’ isa collection of Empara Mi’s previously released singles as well as new material. The project showcases her journey so far since her emergence in 2016 with debut single and opener “Wanderlust”. Also, it will highlight her “WYGD“, “Ditch“, “Blood in the Water“, and “Shine On You” singles.
So far, Empara Mi has amassed millions of streams online via Spotify alone. Most recently, her singles have been featured in six episodes of the latest series of “Love Island”. Also, “SHOUT” was used as the soundtrack to a stunning dance routine from contestant Ainsley Ricketts on BBC One’s “The Greatest Dancer”. Furthermore, Ainsley choreographed and stars in the forthcoming official video for “SHOUT”.
“The first time that I lied, I lied by your side, we got f**king high. It happens all the time, we laugh and then we cry, we drank the bottles dry. Feels like heartaches and drum breaks. They come easily ‘cause it’s my life and my dreams they’re holding onto me.” – lyrics
