Dyo (pronounced Dye-O) is an award-winning British-Nigerian singer-songwriter based in East London, England. Not too long ago, she released a music video for her “Papaya” single featuring (Ghanaian artist) Lord Afrixana (featured on Beyoncé’s “The Gift” record).
Dyo – “Papaya” music video feat. Lord Afrixana
“‘Papaya’ is just a fun track full of so much wordplay. I wonder if you caught all the puns? Lord Afrixana killed his verse too. Also, it’s a sexy song about releasing your inhibitions.” – Dyo
The Capone-directed audiovisual finds Dyo playing the role of a fortune teller, and Lord Afrixana delivers his verse from her crystal ball.
‘Papaya’ is featured on Dyo’s latest EP, entitled, “Dyologue”. The project features previously released singles including “Go All The Way” with Mr Eazi and “Can’t Buy My Love”. Also, “Payaya” was produced by Jay Weathers (Stormzy), Scribz Riley (Cardi B, Khalid) and Guilty Beatz (Beyoncé). Furthermore, it was co-written by Stacey Barthe (Rihanna, Nipsey Hussle).
Dyo – “Dyologue” EP
“I wanted to put my best foot forward and make good music that people will hopefully enjoy and connect with. This EP means so much to me. I’ve put a lot of time and effort, and love and energy into it, and it feels like years in the making. I’m finally here putting a body of work out into the world that I feel really proud of.” – Dyo
‘Dyologue’ is the first chapter in the East Londoner’s career as a solo artist and chronicles her thoughts through song.
