Dasha releases a wonderful pop single, entitled, “Make A Scene”

Dasha (Anna Dasha Novotny) is a rising 22-year-old singer-songwriter from San Luis Obispo, California. Not too long ago, she released a wonderful pop single, entitled, “Make A Scene.”

Dasha – “Make A Scene” single

“Let’s make a scene and let’s make it loud. F*** what they think, I hate this town. Let’s make out on the highway, make it obvious. Then go downtown to Broadway for the audience. ‘Cause just one look at you, I lose my common sense. Since all the world’s a stage, let’s give them my red lipstick all over your skin. That big screen show, so they can’t forget.” – lyrics

‘Make A Scene’ tells an adventurous tale about a young woman who desires to become intimate in public with her significant other. Apparently, being secluded in a private room is not enough because she wants her name in everyone’s mouth. Therefore, she tells her companion, “We don’t need the back room, I just gotta have you. It’s Hollywood, let’s make sure they see. Darling, let’s make a scene.”

‘Make A Scene’ contains a stimulating narrative and ear-pleasing vocals that will resonate well with fans of Julia Michaels, Taylor Swift, and Madison Beer. The sensual tune possesses thudding drums and guitar-laden instrumentation flavored with alternative and contemporary pop elements.

“It’s Hollywood, let’s make sure they see.”

“I wrote ‘Make A Scene’ with The Gifted in LA. I remember going home that night and listening back to the rough day bounce and instantly knew this song would be an integral part of my debut album. I had the title/lyric ‘Make A Scene’ in my song ideas in my notes app for months. I pulled inspiration from the golden age of Hollywood in both production and lyrical choices. There’s something so timeless about that era that’s so inspiring to my artistry. ‘Make A Scene’ is all about wanting to show someone off to the world in the most confident and glamorous way, ‘darling let’s make a scene.” – Dasha explained

Dasha isn’t one to sugarcoat. She says what she means and means what she says. Growing up, she was immersed in the world of dance, acting, and music. She began writing and performing at the age of 12 with help from her older brother and producer, Bardo (Beauty School Dropout). Since inking a deal with Quadio Records, an independent label based in New York City, Dasha is poised to reach new heights. Her “Make A Scene” single is featured on her epic debut album, entitled, “Dirty Blonde.”

“I’ve been perfecting the sound and writing the songs for ‘Dirty Blonde’ for almost two years now; over 200 songs were written to find the ones you hear on the record. ‘Dirty Blonde’ is all about juxtaposition. The dark and the light. The screaming and the crying. Breaking up and falling in love. The seduction and the innocence. The dirty and the blonde. I wouldn’t pin it to one genre either, though it falls under the pop umbrella. You’ll hear Country/folk influences, punk rock influences, classical music influences, and more. But what holds it all together is that it was all written by me. All the stories are mine.” – Dasha explained

Dasha is set to perform two album release shows for Dirty BlondeCatch her on January 29th at The Moroccan Lounge in L.A., and on February 15th at The Mercury Lounge in New York City.

In 2021, Dasha released her hugely successful EP, “$hiny Things,” which introduced her to hundreds of thousands of adoring TikTok and Spotify fans. The project also secured an exciting array of playlist spots and hit major streaming milestones.

“There is no separation between my artist project and Dasha, the 22-year-old girl living in LA. It’s all authentically me. I’m exactly who my musical persona is in real life. My songs are written about sh*t that goes down in my life. I think that’s what makes my music so relatable. It’s not sugar-coated, it’s honest. That’s what sets me apart.” – Dasha explained

To date, Dasha has collaborated with a variety of artists, including Pink Slip, Inverness, Taska Black, Sam Sumser (Lizzo), The Gifted (Kygo, Tate McRae), Ayokay, Loren, Taylor Bickett, The Nicholas (San Holo, Golden Vessel), Beauty School Dropout (Trevor Daniels, jxdn, Lauren Sanderson), Nick Lopez, Lauren Spencer-Smith, and Nickolas Wheeler (All American Rejects).
