NEIMY is a talented singer-songwriter from Sweden. Not too long ago, she released a lovely electro-pop tune, entitled, “Selfish”.
NEIMY – “Selfish”
“I often process my own feelings by writing songs, and this was definitely one of those tracks. This song is based on mixed feelings from different relationships and experiences in my life. It’s about that feeling you get when you never speak up for yourself and just let someone walk all over you. Acknowledging that, lifts the weight off of your shoulders. It makes you free.” – NEIMY
‘Selfish’ is an emotion-driven track about the lack of boundaries in a relationship and finally standing your own ground. The bubbly tune contains a relatable storyline, sweet pop vocals, and ear-welcoming instrumentation flavored with electronic, indie-pop, and modern dance elements.
NEIMY – “Selfish”
“Songwriting was all I ever wanted to do. It’s my passion in life, and I love writing about everything that life has to offer including injustice, love, and getting hurt. Both the light and the darkness.” – NEIMY
Last year The Chainsmokers picked NEIMY’s song for the Italian movie “Succede” and her track “I’ve Learned” became official film music. Also, she has lent her vocals for Jubel’s hit cover, entitled, “Dancing in the Moonlight”.
The sparkling young singer grew up listening to Bob Dylan’s music. Her other influences include her songwriter-mother and her upbringing in a tiny Swedish village, surrounded by art and music.
