Malan is an up-and-coming singer-songwriter from Wales. Not too long ago, she released a lovely debut single, entitled, “Busy Bee”, recorded just before social distancing measures were introduced in the United Kingdom.

‘Busy Bee’ serves as a wonderful introduction to what listeners can expect to hear from Malan in the near future. The likable tune contains a relatable narrative, pleasing vocals, and tuneful melodies. Also, the laidback song possesses chilled instrumentation scented with a warm indie-pop aroma. Furthermore, “Busy Bee” takes inspiration from a new wave of writers including Mathilda Homer, AMA, and Hope Tala.
Producer Rich James Roberts (Dusky Grey, Cally Rhodes) finished two songs with Malan at Ferlas Studio in Wales, just before the U.K. entered the lockdown period. The second of these songs (“Greed”) will follow on the heels of “Busy Bee” in August 2020.

“I wrote ‘Busy Bee’ from the perspective of an outsider looking in on someone else’s life. Sometimes it’s hard for people to see how busy and full-on their lifestyle is while in the moment. So writing this was my way of bringing attention to the fact that it’s always best to take a break from the busyness of life every now and again when it’s possible.” – Malan
