“I’ve tried once, twice, but I don’t how. How do I get your taste outta my mouth? You pick me up, whenever I’m down, but when the high wears off, I’m still underground. Why are all the bad things, the make-you-feel-good-things? They hide but never fix things. Why are all the bad things, the make-you-feel-nice-things? The never-think-twice-things.” – lyrics

In a stripped-back visual that lets the music speak for itself, Lusaint and her band give a candid performance of the stunning “Sweet Tooth.” Already fast approaching a million streams and with support all across Europe since its February release, it’s an addictive tune from Lusaint about struggling to resist the forbidden fruit of a relationship.

Opening with a cool guitar strut before breaking into a commanding groove, “Sweet Tooth” is an upbeat, addictive new tune from Lusaint. Backed by slinky piano chords, and funk bass, the Manchester songstress gives a stunning vocal performance. With great passion, she sings with a heavy heart, “I hate it ’cause I love you, addicted to the taste. Your sugar leaves my bloodstream, and then I start to crave.”

“Sweet Tooth” follows Lusaint’s previous singles: “Dream Life,” “Fool For You,” and the powerful debut single “Dark Horse,” which received support from BBC Introducing Manchester and Victoria Jane, Future Pop, Future Artists, and Dean & Vicky on BBC Radio 1 amongst other tastemakers.

“You satisfy my sweet tooth, but that don’t stop the pain.”

“‘Sweet Tooth’ is about being obsessed and addicted to someone/something but trying to break the habit, of this force that keeps pulling you back.” – Lusaint explained

With over 50 million streams globally, Lusaint’s distinctive music has captured hearts since her 2019 breakthrough with its melodic blend of jazz and blues influences. Her talents will have their fullest expression yet on her debut EP, “self sabotage,” produced by Blue May (Joy Crookes, Jorja Smith, Lily Allen, Kano). The project will be released in the summer of 2024.
