Lusaint releases a dazzling soul-pop single, entitled, “Fool For You”

Lusaint is a talented singer-songwriter based in Manchester, England. Not too long ago, she released a dazzling soul-pop single, titled, “Fool For You,” via a new indie imprint, Heavenly Fire.

“‘Fool For You’ is about going back to someone you know isn’t good for you but still remains a constant. You become accustomed to their toxicity and assume it as the norm.” – Lusaint explained

Opening with jazzy chords underscoring Lusaint’s show-stopping vocals, “Fool For You” quickly eases into an upbeat strut with bright pianos and a perky brass section. The crisp arrangement is an uplifting vehicle for Lusaint’s defiant lyrics about trying to break out of a relationship that turned sour.

‘Fool For You’ is another glimpse of the Mancunian songstress’ debut EP, “self sabotage,” set for release later this year. The track also spotlights Lusaint’s distinctive voice, which has captured hearts since her 2019 breakthrough with its melodic blend of jazz and blues influences. The track follows Lusaint’s powerful lead single, “Dark Horse,” which received support from BBC Introducing Manchester and Victoria Jane on BBC Radio 1 amongst other tastemakers.

Dark Horse and Fool For You are two leaps forward for Lusaint since her unique rise to stardom in 2019, when her cover of “More Than Friends” (En Vogue ‘Don’t Let Go’) received a TV sync and was subsequently crowned the most Shazam’d song in one day in the UK with over 45,000 Shazams.

Since then, Lusaint has racked up over 20 million streams globally with her music and support from BBC 6 Music, Radio X, and BBC Introducing. Her acoustic covers of Beyoncé’s “Crazy In Love” and “Wicked Game” by Chris Isaak have drawn much attention with the latter hitting over four million YouTube views.

More recently, Lusaint made a scene-stealing appearance on Franky Wah’s Find Out Who We Are, which has already garnered over 250k streams on Spotify alone and received support from tastemakers including BBC Radio 1’s Sarah Story, Charlie Hedges, and Jeremiah Asiamah.

Growing up in the town of Stretford, Greater Manchester, and on a musical diet of Motown, Ella Fitzgerald, and Nina Simone, Lusaint never thought a career in music was possible. Fast forward to 2023 and she has dispelled her own theory; with her music clocking tens of millions of global streams and her self sabotage EP slated for release in October, the future looks extremely bright for this exciting new talent. Lusaint is the real deal. Put your money on her if you want to taste victory.
