Cassidy King – “Wasted” single

“If your love’s an ocean, then I’m lost at sea. And I’m barely floating but you carry me. I need your direction, I’m in way too deep. I want your affection, but it’s lost on me. I wish I could find a way to show you how I’m feeling in the deep end.” – lyrics

‘Wasted’ tells a genuine tale of a young woman who shares a budding relationship with a good-intention individual. Apparently, she’s been used before, and it’s extremely hard for her to commit to anyone because her companions always end up leaving her heartbroken. Therefore, she doesn’t want to fall in love too quickly again until knowing for certain that her partner equally loves her in return.

‘Wasted’ contains a relatable storyline, ear-welcoming vocals, and tuneful melodies. Also, the likable tune possesses rhythmic instrumentation flavored with a tropical pop aroma.

“‘Wasted’ speaks on the difficulty of knowing when it’s safe to fall and being able to fully trust in that commitment when you can’t see what they see in you. I’m afraid to be vulnerable in relationships, especially when they’re good for me. I tend to chase relationships that aren’t healthy because being uncomfortable is something I’ve grown used to. I’m learning to accept someone unconditionally through the acceptance of myself. ‘Wasted’ is a reassurance that you’re worthy of good love and a reminder that it’s okay to fall, but only if they’re holding onto you tightly.” – Cassidy King stated

Cassidy King grew up in a small town with under 6,000 residents, miles of farms and open fields, and innumerable hidden creeks. People not only get to know each other well, but the rural quiet allows them to learn about themselves too.

Prior to tallying millions of streams and views online, King discovered herself in the face of family turmoil, coming to terms with her sexuality as a queer woman, and identifying a genuine path as an artist.

“I’m not a girly-girl. Makeup, glamour, and glitzy sh*t just aren’t for me. I’m from Ohio. I play in fields and on farms for fun. I grew up going to the creek—not playing video games. I’m always outside. That’s who I am. I love where I’m from. It’s a part of me and it’s in my music. I don’t have a filter, I’m spontaneous, I’m a goofball. I’m someone who’s always trying to be a better version of who she is, I’m just Cassidy King. What you see is what you get. I try to show that vulnerability. You’re not alone. What you’re feeling is valid. I hope my music can be a voice for people when they need it. I want to help.” – Cassidy King
