Cassidy King – “Danger” music video
“Hello broken heart, I know I left you lonely. Can’t cover up these scars, they’re gonna kill me slowly. I don’t wanna live like that, I don’t wanna hold you back. I just wanna say I’m sorry, I had to learn the hard way. And maybe I’m just being difficult, and maybe you’ll be better on your own. You know I’m just being cautious, why do I always feel like I’m in danger every time I think about you. You’re a stranger, I’ll never forget about you.” – lyrics
‘Danger’ tells a fascinating tale about a young woman who’s been running away from love her entire life. Now, that love is at the doorstep to her heart, she’s being extremely cautious and reluctant about letting her guard down. Later, she admits that she is indeed a difficult person to deal with. Therefore, her love interest might be better off living life without her.
“I’m in danger every time I think about you.”
“‘Danger’ is about coming to terms with the patterns I tend to fall into, the ones that I often mistake for love. Falling for someone can be so exciting at first that I lose sight of myself and I end up projecting my fears onto them, which inevitably pushes them away. The only real danger I’m in is the one I create.” – Cassidy King explained
‘Danger’ contains a relationship-based narrative, ear-pleasing vocals, and catchy melodies. The likable tune possesses drum-driven instrumentation flavored with contemporary and alternative-pop elements. Furthermore, “Danger” serves as a fantastic presentation of what listeners can expect to hear on Cassidy King’s upcoming follow-up EP, entitled, “Wish u Best,” set to be released late in 2021.
Cassidy King comes from a small town (of only 5,000 people) snuggled in the outskirts of the suburbs of Cleveland, OH. At an early age, she discovered what has become a lifelong passion for music, inspired by everyone from Fiona Apple to Paramore.
Finding herself in a recording studio never seemed like a possibility until a friend’s video of Cassidy singing in her dormitory stairwell went viral on Twitter. She spent the next few years attending college and waitressing during the day to pay for studio time at night. Releasing her debut EP, “Not so Picture Perfect,” in 2020, Cassidy felt the liberation of self-acceptance and identifying a genuine path as an artist.
