TRY releases a lovely dance remix single, entitled, “Fire Sign (RAC Mix),” featuring Mikky Ekko

TRY is a project from Grammy-nominated DJ, producer, and songwriter, Sam i (formerly of hip-hop duo N.A.S.A.) and Nashville production/songwriting vanguard, Shmuck the Loyal. Not too long ago, they shared a club-ready RAC remix of last month’s “Fire Sign” single featuring Mikky Ekko (Rihanna’s “Stay”) via Spectrophonic Sound.

The remix transforms the original version (“Fire Sign”) from an irresistible, vibey pop cut into a modern house banger. Complete with swelling synth stabs, a head-nodding kick, and a deep, hi-hat-led rhythmic pocket, the remix teems with kinetic energy.

The original version marks the first taste of Chapter Two of TRY’s debut album due later this year. The track came complete with a vividly colored video directed by Sam on location in Mumbai, India, with choreography done by Longinus Fernandes (Slumdog Millionaire).

The “Fire Sign” video is the latest entry into TRY’s mind-melting visual catalog, following “Clarity” ft. EARTHGANG, off of last year’s Chapter One EP, which was nominated for a Creative Film Award. “Chapter One” was one of three installments of their debut LP and featured guest appearances from Camden and Miette Hope alongside the Atlanta-based hip-hop duo. TRY also dropped a remix EP, adding Couros and legendary Brooklyn MC and Wu-Tang Clan affiliate, Killah Priest, into the fold.

‘Fire Sign’ further bursts forth with rhythm and soul, courtesy of Mikky Ekko and powerhouse horn group, the Dap-Kings. The sun-soaked single possesses festive instrumentation seasoned with alternative pop ingredients.
