THEY. drops a poppin’ urban soul tune, entitled, “Broken” featuring Jessie Reyez

THEY. is an R&B duo based in Los Angeles, California. Not too long ago, they released “Broken”, a poppin’ urban soul tune from their “Fireside” EP featuring Jessie Reyez.

THEY. – “Broken” feat. Jessie Reyez

“We fall in love, who does the most, but I question it all ’cause I’m still broken. He gets tired, then he leaves, then I cry, and I repeat. Fall in love again, f*ck it up again, there’s just the effect I cry. Better being friends to avoid the pain, I say I’m okay, you’re not.” – lyrics

‘Broken’ tells a bittersweet tale of a woman who’s in a relationship with a good guy who does what he can to make her happy. But she oftentimes blames him for her brokenness.

One day, he gets tired of her accusations and leaves. Later in the day, she admits that she came into their relationship already broken. Also, she apologizes and confesses she lied because she was looking for someone to blame for her brokenness.

‘Broken’ contains a relatable storyline and sweet vocals. Also, it possesses ear-loving instrumentation flavored with a nostalgic indie-rock vibe.
