Sophia Gonzon is an up-and-coming 17-year-old singer-songwriter based in Boca Raton, Florida. Not too long ago, she released a lovely rendition of Sam Smith’s “To Die For” single.

Sophia Gonzon – “To Die For” (Sam Smith cover)

“I am a huge Sam Smith fan! I enjoy singing his songs. I can relate to wanting to have a special person in your life and to find that person to share memories with. He always has such a soulful sound that I like to bring out in my voice as well. In addition to that, I had fun singing the chorus. It has an upbeat twist to it that feels lighter, happier, and uplifting to me. Overall, this song just gives me good vibes!” – Sophia Gonzon

‘To Die For’ contains a relatable narrative, ear-welcoming vocals, and rich harmonies. Also, the emotional ballad possesses moody instrumentation scented with a warm emo-pop aroma. Furthermore, “To Die For” is a song about finding that one special person who you want to spend the rest of your life with.

“Sunshine livin’ on a perfect day while my world’s crashing down.”

“I started recording at age 15 as a form of music therapy to help me cope and overcome PSTD, chronic daily migraines, fibromyalgia, arthritis, anxiety, and depression which stemmed from ongoing bullying. My first 2 songs are about just that. With my first, ‘Daddy Issues’, written as an anti-bullying anthem. I truly hope my music makes a difference by inspiring others to overcome their hardships, raise awareness, and simply enjoyment from listening.” – Sophia Gonzon

‘To Die For’ follows hot on the heels of Sophia Gonzon’s previously released single, entitled, “Daddy Issues”. So far, “Daddy Issues” has amassed over two million streams/views across various social platforms.

“I look for you every day, every night. I close my eyes from the fear, from the light. As I wander down the avenue, so confused. Guess I’ll try and force a smile. Pink lemonade sippin’ on a Sunday, couples holding hands on a runway. They’re all posing in a picture frame, while my world’s crashing down. Solo shadow on a sidewalk, just want somebody to die for.” – lyrics
