SACHI (Will Thomas and Nick Chrisp) is an electronic-EDM production duo from Auckland, New Zealand. Not too long ago, they released a lyric video for their “You (A la)” single, via Casablanca Records.
SACHI – “You (A la)” lyric video
“Around this time every year, we usually do an overseas writing trip. So this internet collaboration was kinda the next best thing for us. And it pushed us to work with people we might not under normal circumstances.” – Will Thomas stated
‘You (A la)’ contains a relatable narrative, pleasing vocals, and tuneful melodies. Also, the dancefloor-friendly tune possesses club-ready instrumentation flavored with modern dance, EDM, and electro-pop elements. Furthermore, “You (A la)” was written and produced over the lockdown period, and formed via email sessions from the duo’s respective bedrooms. Also, the song was written with Swedish singer Hilda, Shy Martin, and Anton Rundberg.
“Just follow intuitions. Don’t need no permission. Dive into the vision.”
“We’re one of the only markets in the world doing shows right now. We’re so excited to share the song with Kiwis coming back out and dancing together. But we still wanted it to sound great in headphones or around the house too. As a form of escapism for the people around the world who still can’t go out dancing.” – Nick Chrisp stated
New Zealand is one of the only countries in the world to welcome back live shows following the pandemic-induced music industry. And SACHI is taking full advantage of that luxury by uniting and entertaining listeners worldwide.
‘You (A la)’ follows hot on the heels of their early 2020 single, “Enchante”, and their 2019 sophomore EP, “Nights With Ruby”. So far, the project has amassed over 25 million streams. This past summer, the pair embarked on an extensive summer festival run, playing in front of over 100,000 fans at Rhythm & Vines, Northern Bass, SoundSplash, Six60 Saturday’s, and many more. Also, SACHI was announced for a string of summer 2021 dates, with New Zealand leading the way.
