Raquel Lily releases an adorable indie R&B tune, entitled, “Adieu”

Raquel Lily is an Atlanta-based singer-songwriter, producer, guitarist, and online personality from the Philippines. Not too long ago, she released an adorable indie R&B tune, entitled, “Adieu.”

“Watching the sunrise seeping through your tapestry. And it occurs to me I’m leaving that fantasy. Time flies when you can’t take your hands off me. Honey, I agree that we’ve got chemistry. Oh babe, even when you’re miles away, I just think about you in my head all day. I just bide my time with you and I’ll do anything you wanna do. You know I’m always in the mood, let’s lay in bed until we say adieu.” – lyrics

‘Adieu’ tells a sensational tale about a young woman who finds herself naked in the kitchen, making pancakes and steak with her significant other. Apparently, it’s four in the morning, and they have no desire to go outside when the sun comes up. Later, she tells her partner, “Oh, babe, even if you cannot stay, I just think about you in my head all day.”

‘Adieu’ contains a romantic narrative, love-centered lyrics, and ear-pleasing vocals that will resonate well with fans of Megan Lenius, Alanna Sterling, and Saya Noé. The likable tune possesses drum and guitar-laden instrumentation bursting with neo-soul flavors and jazzy indie R&B elements. Furthermore, “Adieu” serves as a tasty appetizer to what listeners can expect to hear on Raquel Lily’s debut full-length album, entitled, “Fixations.”

“Everyone’s been broken from something. You smoke some weed. You fall in love. They turn out to be a f***boy. You’re with someone sh*tty. You break up, you ghost them, you still love them. You resign, you meet someone new, and there’s hope again.” – Raquel Lily stated

The eight-track project features the standout singles, “Heartstrings,” “Ghost,” and “I’m Leaving.” Also, “Fixations” narrates a coming of age story about someone going through their 20s.

Raquel confesses how her songwriting is a cathartic, emotional purge. With the simple objective to guide listeners through an impassioned ride, her songs are driven by genuine experiences from an introspective and honest place. Inspired by the likes of Whitney Houston and old-school R&B, Raquel wanted to capture a similar essence of synth-heavy, soul-soaked music. Her love for old soul groups and classics, including Marvin Gaye and Stevie Wonder, also shines brightly throughout her music.

“Honey, I like your vibe and I’m yours to take.”

Raquel Lily streams music performance and a variety of content, including live vlogging (IRL Streaming), Just Chatting, Social Eating, gaming, and cooking on Twitch. She graduated from UC Davis with a degree in Neurobiology, Physiology, and Behavior. But she left the medical field and dove headfirst into her creative pursuit in music and began online streaming in 2017.
