“My song, ‘Safe With Me,’ was written as a letter to my partner who had previously been trapped in an abusive relationship. I wanted to show her that she would be safe this time around and that she could take as much time as she needed to heal from the emotional scars. It was so important to convey that it would be different with me, that she didn’t have to hide her pain, and that I would help her through her journey. The song starts intimate and soft, highlighting the vulnerability and pain in the lyrics but progressively lifts and builds throughout, showing hope and happiness on the other side.
