‘Strawberry Skies’ is the third single of the year for Kwaku Asante, following his “Until The Morning” and “Free Spirit” singles, which have both created an appetite for more feel-good music from the singer. “Strawberry Skies” is the product of classy musicianship and a singer grappling with the intricacies of lust, love, and dating. Kwaku successfully fuses funk, R&B, and Pop, finding himself in his most freeing pocket of musicianship.

Kwaku Asante has fond memories of his younger years, with his love for music igniting both at church and home in a house filled with gospel and jazz. Kwaku’s grandfather, A.K Badu, was an executive producer in Ghana – who founded the first record company there in 1954, Ambassador Records Manufacturing – and he worked alongside musical royalty, Quincy Jones and Fela Kuti. He was influential in Kwaku’s journey, encouraging him to play the piano and sing in the church choir from a young age. This musical lineage is something Kwaku has come to appreciate more as he gets older, and it has become a driving force for him to reach the highest of heights.

Last year, Kwaku had notable highlights, including touring with Samm Henshaw and Pip Millet, which led to the singer performing in some of the most iconic venues nationwide. Following his acclaimed “Wanderlust” EP, Kwaku sold out his headline show at Village Underground, gaining support from Jamz Supernova, Soulection, Afropunk, Clash, Notion, and Guap. Along the way, Kwaku has proven he is one of the most excepted and loved voices in the UK landscape.

Continuing his upward trajectory, Kwaku recently performed at Soho Presents and at the Clash Magazine ‘Next Wave’ event. Also, he has announced that he’ll be performing at Cloud X Festival on 20th August alongside Berwynn, Samm Henshaw, and Jaz Karis amongst others. Kwaku plans to release feel-good music throughout the summer and has announced that “Blue Solstice Volume 2” is coming.
