“These red roses damn near turn to ashes. If I keep it real you won’t understand it. These dirty blogs got your mind damaged. I’ll walk a million miles to see you happy. I hope she don’t think, that I think that she’s some kind of hoe. ‘Cause I don’t care that just lets me know that she knows what she wants, yea. Baby, I won’t judge. Now, I’m sure that she knows what she wants.” – lyrics

‘Happiness Over Everything (H.O.E.)’ contains a relatable storyline, ear-welcoming vocals, and tuneful melodies. Also, the likable tune possesses melodic instrumentation flavored with contemporary R&B and contemporary rap elements.

Furthermore, “Happiness Over Everything (H.O.E.)” will be featured on Jhené Aiko’s highly anticipated album, entitled, “Chilombo”. The project is set to be released on March 6, 2020, via Def Jam Recordings/Universal Music Canada (the country’s leading music company).

‘Chilombo’ proclaims the artist’s full name, Jhené Aiko Efuru, and celebrates her coming into her own personal power. Also, the initial jam sessions where she freestyled the lyrics to each song, took place on The Big Island of Hawaii, where Jhené’s great grandmother was born. Furthermore, the island’s volcanoes inspired Jhené. She has visited them throughout the years. Chilombo means wild beast. Plus, the volcano is symbolic of the beautiful, yet powerful beast. Jhené Aiko is Chilombo.

The first three advance singles from “Chilombo” (“Triggered”, “None Of Your Concern”, & “Pu$$y Fairy [OTW]”) have tallied over 500 million cumulative global streams. In contrast to her 2017 album, “Trip”, which intricately detailed the process of grieving. “Chilombo” finds Jhené embracing her strength and power. Also, coming into her confidence as a woman, a creator, and a healer.
