“Always watching your reactions, hoping that I’m not alone. Feeling this attraction or maybe I’m reading it wrong. Did I just imagine that you are always thinking of me. ‘Cause when I’m with you I can’t help myself. ‘Cause when I’m with you I’m such a mess, I’m not myself.” – lyrics

‘Such a Mess’ tells a charming tale of a young woman who finds herself around a special individual who she is head-over-heels in love with. Apparently, her attraction or infatuation for this person is so strong that there are moments when she forgets to breathe whenever they are together. Later, she admits that she’s a hopeless mess who wonders if her love interest thinks about her in the same romantic way.

“It’s a song about being completely infatuated with someone and that growing tension as neither of you make the first move. Sometimes being around that one person you’re crazy about can make you a bit of a mess.” – Cara Hammond

‘Such a Mess’ follows an incredibly busy festival season which saw Cara Hammond play mesmerizing sets to her ever-growing fan base at Boomtown, Pennfest, and Wales’ famous How The Lights Gets In.

The likable tune was co-written with Karl Zine and Naomi Hammerton (RINNGS). Also, it follows in the heels of Hammond’s funk-inspired soul tune, entitled, “Good Times”.
