“This song was written at a time when I was trying to help someone I loved through their struggles with their mental health. I felt I gave them a lot of my care and time but didn’t feel as though it was at all acknowledged or appreciated. It felt as though I was in the firing line of their torrent of upset and anger.” – Zola Courtney explained

“Firing Line,” along with other tracks from Zola Courtney’s forthcoming EP, “I Dreamt You Made A Movie,” can be heard live on March 6th at her next headline at Servant Jazz Quarters.

In the build-up to Zola’s forthcoming project, she released singles “California” and “Unthinkable” that chronicle the relatable affections felt at the start and end of a relationship. There’s a different type of emotional wear-and-tear, however, all tracks are bonded tightly together by the changes in life that become just as much of who you are as you were before.
