Wallis releases an adorable pop tune, entitled, “Bad Addiction”

Wallis (Wallis McDowall) is an up-and-coming singer-songwriter from Barrow-in-Furness, a town in Cumbria, North-West England. Not too long ago, she released an adorable pop tune, entitled, “Bad Addiction.”

“It’s hard for me to trust, I cover it with lust. Or play the salty b*tch by keeping my legs crossed. You think I’m being bait, your morals, they ain’t straight. You open up the door, I slammed it in your face. But then you worse me down, gave me the run around. You’re coursing through my veins, you left me coming down. Now, I got no control, you’re clinging to my soul.” – lyrics

‘Bad Addiction’ explores themes of desire and addiction within a destructive relationship. The song finds an expressive Wallis singing about this disparaging association, which she labels the perfect storm. Desire, frustration, anger, lust, and humor are laid bare in this fiery Halloween-timed release.

Furthermore, “Bad Addiction” contains a relatable narrative, ear-pleasing vocals, and rich harmonies. The likable tune possesses string-laden instrumentation flavored with a contemporary pop vibration. Also, “Bad Addiction” serves as Wallis’s most pop-influenced single to date.

“Wallis, I’m sick of saying the same thing. He’s toxic, why do you keep going back to him?”

“‘Bad Addiction’ is the guy you know is no good for you. It’s the person that your friends will go crazy at you for when you tell them you’re speaking to him again.” – Wallis explained

At the age of 13, Wallis moved to London as she gained a place at the prestigious Sylvia Young Theatre School. She then went on to study at The Brit School and followed in the footsteps of some of her biggest idols—Adele and Amy Winehouse. Wallis’s musical influences include Ariana Grande, Whitney Houston, Aretha Franklin, H.E.R., Normani, Little Mix, and The Weeknd.
