The Uprise is an international music collective of breaking artists and producers. Not too long ago, they released a music video for their “Mamacita” single featuring NGKS.
The Uprise – “Mamacita” music video
“When the sun’s out she looks swaggy and I’m blacked out with no belly. Tell the chick come through we make money. Got my lip taste just like honey. I grab the number then I’m in. She got a sis that’s her twin. I’m a bad boy full of sin. She a bad girl full of gin.” – lyrics
‘Mamacita’ features W1zzy, Michael, Andi Earnest, and Brazilian dance collective NGKS.
The international rap tune contains a relatable storyline and diverse vocals. Also, the chill instrumentation is flavored with hip-hop and trap elements.
The Uprise – “Mamacita” single
“The title of the song ‘Mamacita’ is a Latin word for sexy mama or sexy lady. It explains her amazing qualities/physique and his willingness to get her attention. The video was shot in São Paulo, Brazil in an abandoned warehouse. The whole set was well put together, flags representing countries of all the artist on the track (Nigeria, Brazil, UK, and Ghana) which summaries the motto and core base of The Uprise. Ultimately, it was fun and exquisite and we managed to get the whole video done in less than 12 hours. It’s been a pleasure being part of this journey.” – Andi Earnest
The Uprise uses the universal language of music to build a meaningful connection in a fractious era. The participants vary from track to track, but with everyone sharing the belief that uniting cultures and empowering outsiders with a voice can be the start of a positive social change.
