Talii – “Good to Be Bad” single
“Wrap your hands around my neck. Tell me I’m your favorite. Let me know that I belong to you. Light me like ya cigarette. Smoke it ‘til there’s nothing left. Show me everything you want to do. It’s written in your eyes it’s all I see. Come and taste the fire you started in me. Let me be your darkest fantasy.” – lyrics
‘Good to Be Bad’ tells an erotic tale of a young woman who shares a pleasurable relationship with her significant other. Apparently, she gets chills on her skin whenever her companion gets in the mood to taste the fire that’s burning inside of her. Later, she reveals that she wants her lover to use her up until she goes numb.
‘Good to Be Bad’ contains sensual storyline, pleasing vocals, and tuneful melodies. Also, the rhythmic tune possesses rhythmic instrumentation flavored with tropical R&B and alternative dancehall elements. Furthermore, “Good to Be Bad” is the follow-up single to Talii’s 2019 body-positive single, entitled, “Thickness”.
“Good to Be Bad” single
“Being bad doesn’t necessarily mean you’re up to no good. It also relates to that feeling of strong, sexy confidence us women love to feel. We all have hidden desires, fantasies, or kinks that we fear others may not accept about us. And this song is the act of diving into that part of you and welcoming it without guilt or fear. The song also embodies the mystical wisdom, divine connection, and unhindered sexuality that female figures throughout history have been characterized with. Yet modern society has largely stifled this raw form of feminine energy. All of us, especially women, are capable of tapping into that energy and I hope this song empowers people to do that.” – Talli told Billboard
Talii was born into a family of diversely talented musicians and performers. Therefore, she wasted no time exploring her musical path. At the age of three, she began singing and started playing the piano by the age of seven. In 2018, she made her debut with “Lost”, produced by G.Bliz (Teyana Taylor, John K, Darion Ja’Von). She later followed with “Mouth”, an addictive track that puts a playful twist on Talii’s signature smooth R&B-meets-soul style. Keep your eyes peeled for more to come as well as news on a debut EP is coming soon.
