Marshmello and Manuel Turizo released an adorable music video for their “El Merengue” single

Marshmello is a famously masked Grammy-nominated artist, inventive DJ, and record producer. Manuel Turizo is a young, top-charting Latin artist, composer, and phenomenon from Cordoba, Colombia. Not too long ago, they released an adorable music video for their “El Merengue” single, which pays homage to the merengue electrónico music from the early 2000s.

The official video, directed by Chadrick Preuss and Sandeep Vadlamudi, showcases Manuel Turizo reminiscing about his ex-girlfriend just before spotting her in the crowd of a nightclub. With some liquid confidence, Turizo acts on impulse to approach her and the two ex-flames dance together in a haze over the smooth electronic merengue beat — or is it all a dream? When the night closes, Turizo is consumed by emotion, but his friend Marshmello consoles him, and the two head out.

The video scenes detail Turizo’s “El Merengue” lyrics composed by Manuel Turizo, Marshmello, Edgar Barrera, Julián Turizo, Miguel Andres Martinez Perea, Carolina Isabel Colón Juarbe, Nicolas Jose Cotton, and Juan Diego Medina Vélez. The song was produced by Marshmello, Nico Cotton, Slow Mike, and Edgar Barrera.

The collaboration also follows Marshmello’s sensational release, “Numb,” featuring Khalid, which peaked at number three on Billboard’s US Hot Dance/Electronic Songs chart. “Numb” was later nominated as the Song Of The Summer at the 2022 MTV Video Music Awards.
