Marlhy is an LA-based singer-songwriter from Dallas, Texas. Not too long ago, she released a lovely electro-pop tune, entitled, “Green Light”.

“So, baby, I’m giving you, giving you the green light. Yeah, tell me if you wanted to, we could do whatever you like. ‘Cause I put you through the works and you still wanna stay. You showed me what you’re worth so take ya foot off the brakes. Yeah, I’m giving you, giving you the green light.” – lyrics

‘Green Light’ tells an interesting tale of a young woman who sees herself falling for a new guy who wants to be more than just friends.

Oftentimes, she talks to him on the phone while his competition is on the other line trying to get her attention.

Later, she admits that she never liked the word commitment, but for him, she’s willing to sacrifice her ideals.

“‘Green Light’ is a song about taking a step forward in a relationship (platonic or romantic) after making the other person work for it a bit. Personally, I’ve always had reservations and don’t trust easily. In order to spend time with me and really get to know me, I want to know that the person genuinely cares before I open myself up like that. Whether you’re a trusting person or not, this song represents caring for yourself and making sure you feel comfortable with someone; and then that feeling of release when you can take that step together.” – Marlhy

‘Green Light’ contains a relatable storyline, welcoming vocals, and lush instrumentation scented with an electro-pop aroma.
