Lu’ginnae (Lu-jha-nae) is an up-and-coming singer-songwriter from Canyon Lake, California. Not too long ago, she released a lovely contemporary R&B tune, entitled, “Mental.”

‘Mental’ tells a charming tale about a young woman who is head-over-heels in love with her significant other. Apparently, he’s desirable, the man of her dreams. Therefore, she caters to him and wouldn’t mind being his wife. Later, she admits that she thinks about her companion all day long.
‘Mental’ contains a relationship-based narrative, ear-pleasing vocals, and tuneful melodies that will resonate well with fans of QUIÑ, Dana Williams, and Gabrielle Current. The likable tune possesses guitar-driven instrumentation flavored with a mellow contemporary R&B aroma. Furthermore, “Mental” serves as a tasty appetizer of what listeners can expect to hear from Lu’ginnae in the near future.

“When I heard the guitar riff, it reminded me of the type of love I used to see in movies like The Wood, Brown Sugar, and Poetic Justice. I wanted to write a song that captured the romance portrayed in those films. This song went through multiple revisions on the production side until my producer finally found the perfect balance of a warm, energetic, and bouncy feeling that resonated with my lyrics. The final touches came from multi-gold and platinum mastering engineer, Luke Pimentel.” – Lu’ginnae explained
Lu’Ginnae uses her smokey and seductive vocal tone to intertwine lush harmonies into her songs that are reminiscent of some of the great R&B vocalists that have come before her. Her musical influences include Beyoncé, Chaka Khan, Baby Face, and Bobby Brown.
