“‘Hate That You Love Me’ is about meeting the right person at the wrong time. I wrote the song after the worst breakup I’d ever experienced. I was in a bad place mentally and wanted to take the time to find myself again. But of course, as soon as I started to do that I met the most amazing person in the world and couldn’t stand the thought of losing them. I found myself flipping back and forth between doing everything I could to heal while in a new relationship, to feeling guilty for not being ready for one.” – Laur Elle explained

‘Hate That You Love Me’ contains a relatable narrative and ear-pleasing vocals. The likable tune possesses upbeat instrumentation flavored with alternative rock, electronic, and contemporary pop elements. Furthermore, “Hate That You Love Me” serves as an appetizing taste of what’s to come from Laur Elle in the near future as she continues to release new music.

In high school, she dove headfirst into the world of music and started writing poetry as an angsty teen. Later, she picked up a guitar and fell in love with songwriting. However, she got sidetracked by the real world and went to the University of Alberta, where she earned a teaching degree. Not too long ago, Elle released the deluxe version of her debut EP, entitled, “The Art of Pretending.”
