“Although I sing about mental health issues quite openly in my music, I still find it really difficult to talk about. Most days, I feel really ashamed of myself for feeling the way I do. In the scheme of things, my life is pretty great. I have people around me who I love and who love me. I live a blessed and privileged life. When you have all of these things, how do you explain to someone that you feel lonely and out of place in this world? It can feel like a trivial thing to bring up when you compare it to the immense struggles some people out there are facing. ‘Will You Stay’ is about finding the courage to ask for support when you need it and asking those around you to stick with you even after you’ve opened up about your darkest moments.” – Jethro Tait explained
‘Will You Stay’ contains a relatable narrative and ear-pleasing vocals that will resonate well with fans of Lauv, Jeremy Zucker, and Alexander 23. The likable tune possesses lush instrumentation flavored with a contemporary-pop vibration. Furthermore, “Will You Stay,” serves as a tasty appetizer to what listeners can expect to hear from Jethro Tait in the near future.
