Gracie Ella releases an attractive music video for her “Butterflies” single

Gracie Ella is a talented up-and-coming jazz vocalist from the Oakville suburb of Clarkson – not too far from Toronto, Canada. She released an attractive, stripped-back music video for her “Butterflies” single not too long ago.

“The chorus for ‘Butterflies’ was originally written by myself for Steven Kozmeniuk (pka “Koz”) to sample. He wanted a bunch of vocal harmonies, something soulful! I sent it to him and he loved it! And he asked if I could write the rest of the song. I ended up keeping the song for myself and bringing it to life with Jamaal Bowry from Toronto, a good friend of mine whom I work with a lot. I am very much like the soulful Taylor Swift, I can’t stop writing about love.” – Gracie Ella explained

‘Butterflies’ contains a relationship-based narrative, ear-pleasing vocals, and tuneful melodies that will resonate well with fans of Sierra Blax, Cheyenne Nicole, and Kat Penkin. The endearing love tune possesses guitar-laden instrumentation flavored with contemporary neo-soul vibration. Furthermore, “Butterflies” serves as a wonderful presentation to what listeners can expect to hear in the near future from a surefire artist to watch.

“I’m not used to feeling love like this, touch like this, sending me good morning messages. And you already won my mother over being my soldier. Keeping me sober, you’re the angel on my shoulder.”

“I’d love for this music to help people. Music offered me a release and comfort, so I knew I wasn’t the only one experiencing those feelings. That’s what I’d love to give.” – Gracie Ella stated

Gracie Ella can recall belting along to her mother’s Céline Dion records among her earliest memories. Meanwhile, her maternal grandparents played accordion, sang in Italian, and “jammed out all of these classics from Italy in the kitchen.” On the other end of the spectrum, her father introduced her to obsessions such as Rush, Guns N’ Roses, and other “great dad rock.”

At the same time, Ella formed a natural and unbreakable connection with all the greats of neo-soul (Erykah Badu, D’Angelo, Jill Scott, Lauryn Hill). This musical cocktail informs Ella’s music output – soul-wrenching R&B combined with sky-reaching pop. With her debut EP on the way, look out for more Gracie Ella very soon.
