An Introspective Look Into Cristale’s “Antisocial” Single

Cristale (@cristaleyy) is a UK rap star from Brixton, South London, England. Not too long ago, she released a gorp-core-style music video for her new “Antisocial” single via Black Butter Records. The video was shot in the forest – a stark contrast to the capital city she calls home – with Cristale pondering her thoughts as she roams the outdoors alone.  The release shows Cristale’s growth and sets the tone for what’s to come in the new year.

The new TSB-produced single “Antisocial” brings some insight into Cristale’s temperament and character, while also serving as a raw social commentary of young, Black London. Over atmospheric strings and moving piano chords, Cristale details her inner-city experiences alongside her contrasting personas and introspective tendencies, boldly stating “I don’t like people” in her opening lyrics.

Reinforcing her position as one of the UK’s most exciting rap talents, “Antisocial” caps off an incredible year for Cristale. Known for her thought-provoking coming-of-age tales, she’s dropped a slew of collaborations and freestyles in 2023; her viral Plugged In with Teezandos, Top Boy’s official single “Roadents,” and a Nike Women’s World Cup Daily Duppy for GRM. Most recently, she had another viral moment on “Sing Dat” with drill producer, M1onthebeat.

Cristale first entered the public consciousness in 2022 when the viral hit “Bong Bing” propelled her onto mobile devices across the globe. This was shortly followed by her debut EP, “What It’s Like To Be Young,” which further exemplifies her penchant for releasing biting records, before “Roadents” saw her solidify her role as a true lyricist and voice within UK Rap. Moving into 2024 with fierce momentum, Cristale remains authentically true to herself and shows no sign of slowing down.
