Cole LC fuses R&B, rap, drill, and alt-pop in an eclectic mix of genre-hopping songs that reflect on his upbringing, friendships, and relationships from his home of Leeds. Like so many in his generation, Cole’s inspirations are drawn from multiple influences, and he honed his skills and built an audience by sharing original tunes and freestyle raps across social media and busking from an early age. He released his debut mixtape in 2021 and performed at Reading, Leeds, and Parklife festivals.
Cole’s influences and musical heroes are as eclectic as you might expect. He lists his biggest inspirations as Mike Skinner, Potter Payper, Mahalia, Lil Baby, and Ed Sheeran. “I want to be unpredictable, but consistent,” he says, and it’s clear he’s working hard to learn as many lessons from his heroes as possible.
