Classified – “Amnesia” (Official Video)

“Let me come down from the ceiling, put my feet back on the floor. 80 lbs of pressure feel it deep inside the core. I been flying high but it’s been harder to endure. Went from sitting on the bench to a starter on the court. Let me black out like the past, passed out. I’m half maxed out, that close to tapped out. Take the wheel from me, something’s wrong man. I feel funny…like Monopoly but we’re playing with real money.” – lyrics

The lyrics paint a vivid picture of transformation, from feeling weightless and on top of the world to the pressures of being an over-the-hill starter on the basketball court. The video begins in a locker room, where Classified is surrounded by his out-of-shape teammates. They have been struggling, both physically and mentally. But with a little pep talk from their coach, they find the motivation to step onto the court.

As the Enfield Shooters make their entrance into the gymnasium, they are greeted by cheerleaders and a small group of fans. The atmosphere is electric, despite the nearly empty bleachers. It’s a reminder that sometimes, it’s not about the number of people watching, but the passion and dedication of those who are there.

Classified reminds viewers that success is not always easy. It requires hard work, determination, and the ability to bounce back from setbacks. It’s a journey that we can all relate to, whether we’re on the court or facing challenges in our own lives. So let’s take a moment to appreciate the highs and lows, the triumphs and struggles, and the moments that make us feel alive. Because, in the end, it’s not just about the destination, but the journey itself. And with “Amnesia,” Classified invites us to join him on this exhilarating ride.

“This album has been almost 3 years in the making, I never planned on starting a new album, but during the pandemic I found myself having a lot of new things to write about…so I put a song together. A couple of months passed, and I wrote another song and another… and slowly, over the last few years, I ended up with 11 songs and a finished project.

This project is really just my views on what’s going on with the world, in my life, and my point of view just watching everything unfold in front of me. Some people will agree with what I’m saying, some will really relate, and maybe some won’t. And that’s fine. That’s why I wanted to call this project ‘Luke’s View,’ because it’s just that. My take on the information in my life that I have. Personal songs, political songs, good old fashioned boom bap songs, lyrical flow/chill songs, flexing the skills type of songs – a lot of different styles to reflect the different views. Really enjoyed putting this together and excited to get ‘Luke’s View’ out into the world.” – Classified explained
