Chelsea Collins releases a lyric video for her empowering new breakup single, “There U Go (Bye Bye!)”

Chelsea Collins (@chelseacollinss) is an LA-based singer-songwriter, producer, and musician from the Bay Area, California. Not too long ago, she released a lyric video for her empowering new breakup single, titled, “There U Go (Bye Bye!),” via Craft Recordings.

“‘There U Go (Bye Bye!)’ is one of my favorite songs that I’ve ever made. I was exiting a stale relationship and writing this song actually led me to have the strength to leave. Once the track was done, the facade I had of him in my head was gone and a weight was lifted off my shoulders. I saw him for who he was. I wanted to write a song from a strong perspective instead of my usual sad breakup songs.” – Chelsea Collins explained

The Chelsea Collins-directed video portrays the artist bidding farewell to an Elon Musk cardboard cutout. “It embodies the essence of this song,” she explains. “My ex’s idol was Elon Musk (we both grew up in the Bay Area) and I used to love Twitter, so this video and song is like saying farewell to my ex and one of my favorite apps.”

Chelsea Collins – “ANGEL” (Lyric Video)

‘There U Go (Bye Bye!)’ follows the bittersweet ballad, “ANGEL,” and the cathartic, “WHEN U WERE PSYCHO.” All three songs are featured on Chelsea Collins’ latest EP, entitled, “THE LOST FILES.” The long-awaited project chronicles Collins’ first romantic relationship. Collins co-wrote and co-produced the EP before she was signed to her former label home, HITCO.

“I learned so much about love through this EP. It starts out so beautiful (‘ANGEL’), turns into chaos (‘WHEN U WERE PSYCHO’), and then you realize by the end that it’s time to move on (‘There U Go (Bye Bye!)’) and that maybe the guy you date at 19 isn’t supposed to be your husband.

“These are the last batch of songs that I wrote when I was a teenager before getting signed, as well as the first batch of full songs that I wrote, recorded, and produced entirely by myself. I was told repeatedly that the production on these songs wasn’t good enough and that I should let a more experienced person (always a man) rework them.” – Chelsea Collins stated

‘THE LOST FILES’ was written and produced alongside collaborators including GRAMMY®-winning producer Khris Lorenz (Ziggy Marley, 3OH!3), Collins’ brother, singer-songwriter Nico Collins, and songwriter MONROE (Chelsea Collins’ “07 Britney”). Long sought-after by fans, the EP holds an even greater significance to Collins on an artistic level.

Now, three years later, fans can hear these songs as Collins originally intended. Seeing the project finally come to fruition has been a self-described “therapeutic” process for Collins.

“I genuinely thought that I would never be able to release these songs due to contractual issues, but the universe sent me a music industry angel, Joe Aboud, who led my marketing at my previous label, HITCO. Being able to finally share the music with my fans is such a heartwarming feeling.” – Chelsea Collins stated

Chelsea Collins has racked up over 150 million streams since her debut. The self-taught producer immersed herself in music as a child—finding inspiration from pop stars like Taylor Swift and Britney Spears as well as from hit-making producers like Max Martin. After high school, the laser-focused artist relocated to Los Angeles to develop her career.

In 2019, Collins signed with HITCO, where she released a string of top-streaming singles, including “Used to be (L.O.V.E.)” and “07 Britney.” Soon, she caught the attention of her peers, leading to a series of high-profile collaborations, including 2020’s “Water Run Dry” with the chart-topping rapper/singer 24kGoldn; a duet of Stevie Wonder’s “Higher Ground” with GRAMMY®-winning singer, songwriter, and actress Andra Day; and 2021’s “Hotel Bed” with GRAMMY®-nominated hip-hop star Swae Lee. In 2022, Concord acquired HITCO’s impressive hip-hop and pop catalog.
