Cautious Clay is a New York-based R&B/Soul singer. Not too long ago, he released “Crowned”, a delicious soul tune from his 4-track “RESONANCE” EP.
Cautious Clay – “Crowned
“Quiet on the set, I don’t need to stress ‘bout things that you want, anything that you want. Rolls that you want. Signs you making bread. No coupons. I can’t even make you famous. It’s everything beside the way you make me feel.” – lyrics
“Crowned” consists of ear-welcoming vocals, relatable storytelling, and lush instrumentation which hypnotizes listeners to vibe to its melodic bounce. Also, the song speaks about vanity and addresses the fact that there’s more to life than obtaining materialistic things such as wealth, goods, etc.
The artist wants listeners to look beyond things with price tags and focus on unseen things that are priceless such as love, happiness, and other positive emotions that involve how someone feels. If that blissful level can’t be obtained, then all is vanity. If that’s the case, then Clay thinks we should pray for our sanity.
Cautious Clay – “RESONANCE”
In conclusion, Cautious Clay has an ear-welcoming sound, and he’s definitely an artist to look out for in 2018 and beyond. His sold-out show at Bowery Ballroom is a clear indication of his musical importance. Also, equally as important, his marquee song, “Cold War”, premiered on HBO’s “Insecure” Season 3.
