‘YOU GOTTA MAN’ opens with the twang of a guitar, rumbling 808s, and reverberating backing vocals, which open up to welcome BLK ODYSSY’s signature soothing vocals. Funky basslines and filtered drum lines come together to create a harmonically rich fusion of soul and R&B, with BLK crooning on the issue of wanting someone while they’re both in a relationship, concluding that he will “see you next lifetime” instead.

The record is presented as an erotic novel by Keisha Plum for a vivid storytelling experience, blending sounds that create a fresh and distinct world in which BLK ODYSSY shines brightly.
‘YOU GOTTA MAN’ is BLK ODYSSY’s third release of the year, following “HONEYSUCKLE NECKBONE” and “ODEE,” all three showcasing distinct styles from the versatile artist. “ODEE’ is a dark, haunting soul tune with deep bass and twinkling guitar lines, whereas “HONEYSUCKLE NECKBONE” is more upbeat, with funky instrumentation and an addictive groove.
