“‘Damn’ is a song of heartache and pain, longing for someone who isn’t ready after falling in love. I wrote this straight from real-life experience, so it’s a very raw and vulnerable song for me. It fits perfectly into my upcoming project ‘Good Sh!t & Heartbreak’ and a song I think any will relate to and get in their feels too.” – Ayda Rose explained

“Damn” contains a heartfelt narrative, bass-and-keys- instrumentation, and ear-pleasing vocals that will resonate well with fans of Jazmine Sullivan, Mahalia, and Summer Walker. “Now you said you wanted me, made me feel like I’m that girl,” Ayda Rose sings with great passion to her significant other. “Now, you got me losing my cool, I want to give it all to you. Spending all my time on you when you’re on the other side of the world.” Now what is she supposed to do with the love she has in her heart for her companion?

“Wish I didn’t think about you.”

Ayda Rose embodies what it means to work hard and hustle to follow your dreams. Music runs deep from her British father, drummer, and vocalist of ‘60s Rock royalty, DBM&T. Teamed with a mixed heritage of Haitian American & Native American on her mother’s side, this combination has influenced and helped shape her journey so far as an artist.

Collaborating and releasing under the Alias ‘Effie’ for the past few years, Rose has decided it’s time to step into a new era releasing her forthcoming project under the name Ayda Rose, a name born out of a long lineage of powerful women. Rose uses her unmistakable voice and creates soulful melodies and heartfelt lyrics into a unique sound. With influences from SZA, Amy Winehouse, and Stevie Wonder, you can hear how she takes inspiration from her love of soul and perfectly blends it with urban electronic sounds.
