Amethyst releases a lovely debut single, entitled, “Can’t Let Go”

Amethyst is an up-and-coming singer-songwriter from Chichester, England. Not too long ago, she released a lovely debut single, entitled, “Can’t Let Go.”

Amethyst – “Can’t Let Go” single

“Loving me, it ain’t the same. Loving me, it ain’t a game, baby. You love the way I make you feel, you know that this is something real for us. You’ve been falling, I’ve been falling too – deeper in love with you. I’ve been trying, can’t deny it’s true that I’m missing you.” – lyrics

‘Can’t Let Go’ tells an intriguing tale about a young woman who shares a budding relationship with her significant other. Apparently, their love is “like gasoline, igniting the sparks,” and the fire they have for each other isn’t burning out anytime soon. Later, she admits that it’s a good feeling knowing that she’s constantly on her partner’s mind throughout the day and nighttime hours.

‘Can’t Let Go’ contains a relationship-based narrative and ear-pleasing vocals. The likable tune possesses lush instrumentation flavored with a jazzy neo-soul vibration. Furthermore, “Can’t Let Go” serves as a fantastic introduction to what listeners can expect to hear from Amethyst in the near future as she continues to release new music.

“I’m in your dreams, I’m on your mind.”

“‘Can’t Let Go’ is a song about knowing that your love is better than anyone else’s. It’s really about female empowerment and feeling like a goddess. You know what you bring to the table – whether that’s sexually or just to the relationship as a whole is something that no one else can compete with and your lover knows this. However, the tables are turned at the end of the song when the lyrics change to ‘baby, I can’t let go.’ This isn’t to show that she is weak but how she has finally met her match and someone who can give her exactly what she requires.” – Amethyst explained

Amethyst’s musical influences including Ella Fitzgerald, James Brown, Stevie Wonder, Lianne La Havas, Snoh Aalegra, and H.E.R. Amethyst’s sound has been described as modern R&B/neo-soul production, tied together with a luscious and soothing soulful jazz vocal.

“You can’t let go ‘cause you love me so.”
