“If you checking on me then you gotta put in work, ‘cause I’m in love with my liberty. A girl like me, you gon’ have to compete. ‘Cause, baby, I de taunt. You looking at my rump, I’m looking hella plump, eh-eh-eh. Body got you spun, wanna take me for a run, until we see the sun, eh-eh-eh. I don’t do that ashawo awusha, but if you put me on a flight to Abuja, I might give you some love and affection. But I can’t promise all my attention.” – lyrics

‘Whatever I Want’ tells an intriguing tale about a young lady who believes she’s the most appealing woman in whatever room she enters. What you have to offer her plays a big part in getting her attention. Typically, she’s the type that men like to flaunt. Therefore, she tells a guy who is interested in her, “My time is expensive. And, baby, I got to live freely.”

‘Whatever I Want’ is an upbeat summertime song that fuses pop, Afropop, and contemporary R&B elements. The song is about exuding positive energy and being confident in your abilities. Also, “Whatever I Want” was recorded inside Spotify Canada’s Spotify Studios after Victory was selected for two back-to-back 8-hour recording sessions by Spotify. Plus, the song is the second single from Victory’s upcoming debut EP.

“Keep it cute, keep it good, keep it fun. That’s how I get whatever I want.”
