Victoria Taylor – “Without You” single

“It’s hard not to see your face anymore. Each time I close my eyes, I wanna reach out and grab you. This pain is hard to disguise. So, tell me what I can say to make you want to stay?” – lyrics

‘Without You’ tells a heartfelt tale about a young woman who feels discouraged after experiencing an emotional separation from her significant other. Apparently, she used to be an outgoing person with a cheerful personality. But now, no one sees her outside anymore because she chooses to stay indoors. Later, she encourages herself to get it together because she hopes one day she will see her love interest again.

‘Without You’ contains a post-relationship-based narrative, ear-pleasing vocals, and tuneful melodies that will resonate well with fans of Ella Henderson, Sinead Harnett, and Violet Skies. The sensitive tune possesses moody instrumentation flavored with a gloomy indie-pop aroma. Furthermore, “Without You” serves as a wonderful presentation of what listeners can expect to hear from Victoria Taylor in the near future.

“I’d rather stay inside falling asleep to see you again.”

“‘Without You’ was inspired by the book, ‘The Two Lives of Lydia Bird,’ by Josie Silver. The two storylines intertwine when the loss of the main character’s fiancé leads her to a parallel life with him in her dreams. She is torn between living her real-life without him and her sleeping life with him. ‘Without You’ explores the feeling of navigating grief and the realization that life will never be the same. It is about recognizing that in order to get over, you must go through [something] so you can find a new happiness.” – Victoria Taylor explained

Victoria Taylor grew in a large Italian-American family, where every gathering had to have a DJ present. Music brought young Taylor joy and she loved listening to Cher, Celine Dion, Christina Aguilera, and Whitney Houston. Later, after studying Jazz music in multiple music schools, R&B became a heavy influence.

“My music became an ode to both of these huge gravitational forces in my life. I wanted to use these styles to create songs catchy enough that they drove people to listen to the lyrics within. Those lyrics tell deep stories about love, pain, fear, and self-empowerment.” – Victoria Taylor stated

“The core of this song engraves into our hearts that as women it is okay to be alone. The initial shock may hit you hard and this song explores that. But the stigma that we need someone to survive is long gone. There truly is power in the unknowns of tomorrow. All we have to do is reach out, grab it and make it worth it.” – Victoria Taylor explained
