The Indien releases a dazzling new pop single, entitled, “Be Yours”

The Indien is the creative project of Rianne Walther, an artist from The Netherlands. Not too long ago, they released a dazzling new pop single, titled, “Be Yours.”

The Indien – “Be Yours” lyric video

“I heard you laughing in the other room when I was dreaming. I know you’re leaving, so you packed your bags while I was screaming. And it must have been you on the other line, is that why you called to say goodbye? An evening without you, I think it’s time, am I changing.” – lyrics

‘Be Yours’ tells a heartfelt tale about a young woman who desires to be loved by someone who she wouldn’t mind spending the rest of her life with. She would be more than ecstatic if this person picked her as a life partner. However, after doing everything right, she fails to secure a committed companionship. Heartbroken, and on the verge of weeping, she tells her love interest, “I want you, but if I’m not the one you want, you’re not worth waiting on.”

‘Be Yours’ contains a gloomy narrative and ear-pleasing vocals that will resonate well with fans of Maja Francis, Lana Del Rey, and Phoebe Bridgers. The nostalgic tune possesses thudding drums, percussion, guitars, and synth-laden instrumentation scented with a classic ’70s vibration blended with contemporary pop elements. Furthermore, “Be Yours” serves as a bite-sized treat of what listeners can expect to hear from The Indien in the near future as they continue to release new music.

“Could u love me, be honest?”

“‘Be Yours’ portrays the struggles of someone who is desperately holding onto a crumbling relationship, while living in a state of uncertainty and indecision. The narrator finds themselves stuck in the metaphorical waiting room, unsure of which direction to take in their relationship. The song delves into the complexities of trying to salvage love that may be beyond repair.” – The Indien explained

The Indien plays with influences from the past but at its core makes lively pop songs with an alternative slant. “Fundamentally, it’s pop music, though it’s probably leaning toward the alternative side,” says The Indien. “The backbone of our music is usually recorded in a live setting, but a big part of the production takes part in sessions at home. It’s intricate, vibey…but with a DIY feel too.”
