Shingai is the legendary frontwoman and bassist from The Noisettes known for her dramatic performances.

She received inspiration for her “Coming Home” single from her uncle, the legendary musician Dr. Thomas Mapfumo, and his classic hit “Shumba”.

Also, “Coming Home” represents the journey of Zimbabwean music, whose legacy she’s taking into the future.

In an oversaturated market where authenticity is key to an artist’s success, Shingai may well be breaking the boundaries of pop before it consumes itself.
