Samantha Marie was raised in New Smyrna Beach, where she began singing and musical theater. Growing up in a small town, where the walls always felt a little bit too close, Samantha turned to music for everything from illustrating her big city dreams to coping with mental health issues. From childhood through her adolescent years, she struggled with an eating disorder and other mental health problems that required her to be hospitalized several times, making it difficult to make her artistry a priority. These illnesses led to Samantha developing a fear of performing and avoiding the topic of her dreams of a music career entirely.

In 2021, Samantha, who remains in recovery from her ED, moved to Los Angeles, where she found solace in the robust city and a creative community that shares her love of music and art. Living in L.A. has also kickstarted her creativity, having previously felt like her hometown limited her art since she looked to her surroundings and personal experiences to influence her work. Samantha channeled this renewed creativity into a book of quotes and excerpts, It’s Five AM My Time Again: I’m Calling And You Know It’s Me, published in 2022.

Although Samantha is a published author, and her photography/aesthetic has garnered her a large following on social media, she remains steadfast in her dreams of being a recording artist. Also, she found a way to merge her projects–her upcoming book will be a deep dive into the influences behind the EP.
