Reeny Smith releases a soulful R&B single, entitled, “Amber Lights”

Reeny Smith is a singer-songwriter, musician, and producer from North Preston, Nova Scotia, the largest Indigenous Black community in Canada. Not too long ago, she released a soulful R&B single, titled, “Amber Lights.”

Reeny Smith – “Amber Lights” lyric video

‘Amber Lights’ tells a cautionary tale about a young woman who recently entered a brand-new relationship with her significant other. Apparently, it’s only been a little over a week since they’ve been together, and her partner has already confessed that he is in love with her. Unfortunately, she can’t say the same endearing thing because it’s too soon for her to feel that way about him. Therefore, she gives him the cold shoulder because she doesn’t want to rush things.

‘Amber Lights’ was prompted by a YouTube video about a minor car fender bender at a traffic stop. “The accident occurred while the amber light was on and for some odd reason, I was inspired and this song was written within the next hour,” Reeny elaborated. The string-laden tune contains ear-welcoming vocals and charming fireplace-burning melodies that will resonate well with fans of warm, old-school soul music. Furthermore, “Amber Lights” serves as a savory treat to what listeners can expect to hear from Reeny Smith in the near future as she continues to release new spellbinding music.

“I’m sorry if I may have disappointed you.”
