“Watch us as we both start fading out and hiding in the dark corners of our house. We drift away at midnight for fear has no doubt, we both know our time’s run out. Where did you go? What did I do? How did we fall right back? And all that we know, can’t seem to be true. I’m falling. You said to me, my baby, don’t you cry. For you, I have been promised, so dry your eyes. Sweet warnings in a whisper, your eyes met with mine. Maybe, this is where I die, I never knew I would be here.” – lyrics

The first minute and ten seconds of “Falling” showcases a beautiful ‘70s-soul-inspired instrumentation that will sweep you away to a place where love is everywhere like air, filling the atmosphere, blissfully. Where dreams come true, Raelle emerges on the scene with sweet soul vocals reminiscent of a young Anita Baker mixed with contemporary neo-soul artists of this generation such as Cleo Sol and Joy Crookes. Raelle sings with passion, “One day, I called your name out loud, but you could not hear. And then the Devil comes to you and he sells you fear.”

‘Falling’ contains a relatable, love-based narrative, sweet-smelling soul vocals, and vintage stylings similar to music created by Cleo Sol, Minnie Riperton, and Joy Crookes. The nostalgic offering features a full orchestral arrangement with thudding drums, saturated bass, and horn-laden contributions flavored with retro-R&B and neo-soul elements. Furthermore, “Falling” serves as a savory treat to what listeners can expect to hear on Raelle’s upcoming EP, “Bloodlines,” which is set to be released in May 2023.

“We both know our time’s run out.”

“Written over the space of two years, ‘Falling’ was recorded between Manchester, in a shipping container turned studio, and at a fancy London studio. The artwork was taken by Adam just before the 1st lockdown, and the inscribed over are the original words and paper I wrote them on when I was writing.” – Raelle stated

“It’s not just words on a page or notes being played, it’s all about feelings,” is what Raelle had to say about music. She was inspired by an eclectic mix of artists from Isaac Hayes to Beach House and Janis Joplin to Cleo Sol. Her music will transport you into her world of honey-sweet classic soul.
