“The music video is also an old Hollywood glamour throwback vibe where the concept was really me talking to myself in the mirror. Showcasing how my only competition is me, all while living her best life in her bag, glamours af.” – Marissa Hernandez explained

“Sunday” tells an encouraging story about a confident woman who chooses to shake off all the bad vibes and negativity from her life. She clears her mind and decides to let people think what they want to think about her because what they think about her really doesn’t matter anyway. In the self-esteem department, she believes wholeheartedly that she’s beautiful from her head down to her toes.

“You could make it rain even on a Sunday.”

“SUNDAY was written during a time when a lot of things were falling apart in my life, including, the veil being lifted on individuals’ intentions, people sending their negative energy, and lots of unnecessary hurt. I think it’s kind of almost my response to so much I walked away with grace from. I needed to remind myself who I was.

I never intended on releasing it. However, once I laid it down in the studio with my engineer, I realized we had created something magical. When he hit that playback, I felt like I was listening to one of Britney Spears’ songs for the first time – except this time, it was mine,’ and I knew in that moment there were probably lots of other people out there who needed this bad b*tch anthem on their playlist and felt the exact same way. A shout out to DEDOV because this would’ve never come to life without his sick a$$ beat. Much love my bro.” – Marissa Hernandez explained

With a joyful heart, Marissa Hernandez sings with great passion, “I left all my priorities, sh*t you said to me, insecurities to the side. Don’t need you viewing me or your scrutiny, I’m a rarity, I’m a dime.”

Marissa Hernandez pulls inspiration and draws influence from the ‘50s, ‘60s, ‘70s, and ‘90s. Listeners of her music will surely be taken back to nostalgic times and iconic eras in music as she paves the way for Latina artists. Marissa wants to be the kind of positive role model she didn’t have growing up as a little girl in the music industry. Using her platform to truly make a difference and show the world that having a beautiful soul is worth far more than the eye can see.
